The healthcare system in Taipei is considered one of the best as it’s both affordable and accessible. If you’re plannig on staying in Taipei long-term or are applying for residency, then you’ll be able to get the National Health Insurance. The National Health Insurance (NHI) covers most medical services, and the co-payments are low. With the NHI, you can visit any hospital or clinic that is part of the system and you’ll receive high-quality care. Additionally, you can also purchase private health insurance if you prefer to do so.

In the case of digital nomads, a private health insurance will be required for you to be able to attend a hospital or a clinic. Before you travel, make sure to review and compare different companies and packages to find one that covers everything you need. Some examples of companies for purchasing private health insurance are Cigna Global, Bupa Global and Allianz.
