The first stop on your list should be El Rastro. This flea market sets up shop every Sunday morning and bank holiday on La Ribera de Curtidores, as it has for more than 400 years. It’s an outdoor market where you can buy any number of secondhand items, clothing, and arts and crafts. Street musicians will often perform for the crowds, which enhances the lively atmosphere. 3. Mercado de San Miguel
The Mercado de San Miguel is the king of food markets in Madrid, with an estimated 10 million visitors passing through its doors every year. Let the sounds and aromas wash over you as you hop from stall to stall to scope out what’s hot. Some pinchos and tapas are only a euro or two, so you can sample tasty bites on the cheap!
